![]() 5th November 2010. Unique steam locomotive 71000 "Duke of Gloucester" hauls diesel 67022 and a set of Pullman cars past Coxes Mill at Addlestone. The train is 1Z82 circular tour from London Victoria via Staines and Guildford to Shalford, where the loco took on water and changed train identity to 1Z83 before continuing via Redhill and East Croydon to Victoria. The autumn leaves are noticeable. |

A chance glimpse over the parapet of the road bridge south of Weybridge station resulted in this photograph of MPV number DR 98975 heading another MPV as they leave the Down Slow line through the station platform and take the branch line towards Virginia Water.. The train made a loud hissing noise, so is presumed to have been on rail head treatment duties. It was subsequently discovered that the trailing MPV was number DR 98925 and that the working was 3S82 from Effingham Junction to Clapham Junction and back to Effingham Junction. |

![]() 18th August 2010. DB-Shenker locomotive 66058 in EWS livery runs past Coxes Mill on its way from Eastleigh to Hoo Junction. This train runs as 6Y41 each weekday taking engineering materials wagons to Hoo Junction in preparation for weekend engineering work. On this day there were no wagons to be moved, so the locomotive made the journey without a load as train 0Y41, the leading zero indicating that it was a "light engine" without any wagons. |

The wagons were loaded with stone at the Foster Yeoman quarry at Merehead in Somerset and had been conveyed from there in a "Jumbo" train to Acton, where it was divided into sections to go to the individual unloading points. The TOPS type JHA bogie hopper wagons are owned by Orenstein & Koppel and were build by them in Germany. They are leased to Foster Yeoman and carry the Foster Yeoman logo. |

This type of locomotive was popularly known as the "King Arthur" class due to their names being taken from the stories of King Arthur and the round table. Sir Lamiel was a minor knight who was said to be a great lover. |
