Beyond the "Horseshoe Curve" area the wooden tramway rounded the
hill and found its way through open country to the Deeside Slate
Quarry. This page illustrates the area as it was in the mid-1980s.

This rather flimsy bridge once carried a line over
a route into the quarry. The line on the bridge took slate waste from
the quarry to the waste tips.
