Nameplate of preserved LMS Coronation class Pacific 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland". The Royal Crown is a modern addition that dates from when the locomotive hauled the Royal Train.

Ex-LMS Coronation class Pacific 46257 "City of Salford" hauls Down "Royal Scot" near Shap Summit 6th June 1952. The coaches are in BR carmine & cream livery. This locomotive entered service in 1948 in non-streamlined form. It was the last of the class to be built and one of two built with roller bearings.
