Locomotive 872 was built by Andrew Barclay of Kilmarnock in 1966 as works number 511 for BAOR. It is known to have carried the name "Carr" and was seen at Rheindahlen in August 1989 and at Wetter in February 1992. 3rd September 2013.

Locomotive 870. On the door it is possible to see the feint traces of the German marking "Auf Bundesbahn Zugulassen", indicating the loco could at one time run on Deutsche Bundesbahn tracks. 3rd September 2013.
