Former BR 49395, an ex-LNWR steam locomotive, at Blists Hill in Ironbridge on 13th November 1983. Like other LNWR engines, these featured "H" section spokes. The third set of driving wheels from the front were flangeless in order to help the locomotive negotiate curves.

The G2a class steam locomotives were designed by C J Bowen-Cooke of the London & North Western Railway (LNWR) and were built at Crewe Works.  The type was known to enthusiasts as "Super-D".
