train 6N04 through the shadows at Coxes Mill, near Addlestone Junction
on 16th May. The train originated at Eastleigh and was bound for
the engineering work site at Oxted.
Still in the shade, 66183 passes the
repeater signal for the green light which can just be glimpsed on the
bend.
DB 66193 finds the sunshine just north
of Addlestone Junction with train 6N05 from Eastleigh to the engineering
work site at Oxted. Locomotive 66156 brings up the rear.
Having been in the sunshine a few moments
before, 66193 approaches the canal bridge at Coxes Mill in shadow with
6N05 from Eastleigh to Oxted. Locomotive 66156 is in bright sunlight at
the rear of the train.
At the rear of train 6N05 locomotive 66156
approaches the repeater signal, while 66183 approaches the colour light
signal protecting the level crossing at Addlestone station. The empty
flat wagons will most likely be used to take away track panels recovered
during the track relaying operation at Oxted.
