
EWS locomotive 66083 approaches the New Road
footbridge at Egham with train 6N01 from Virginia Water to
Eastleigh. The train was carrying recovered track panels from the
worksite at Chertsey.
66083 hauling 6N01 towards Waterloo, where
the train will reverse and then head for Eastleigh.

Track panels removed from Chertsey are
securely strapped to wagon DB996629, TOPS code YWA, a type known as
"Salmon". This particular wagon was built by G R Turner
in 1957 or 1958 as part of BR lot number 3067.
Another load of recovered track panels, this
time loaded onto wagon 621496, TOPS code FDA. This Freightliner
refuse disposal container wagon has been modified by the addition of
straps to hold down loads such as that shown.
This empty wagon was designed to transport
machines equipped with caterpillar tracks to and from work sites.
It is private owner wagon VTG 95635, TOPS code KWA, built by W H Davies
in 2000 or 2001.
Wagon 112073 was built by BR at Shildon in
1981 or 1982 as part of lot number 4014. The TOPS code is OCA.
Wagon 110635 was built by BR at Shildon in
1978 or 1979 as part of lot number 3930. The TOPS code is OBA.
The last vehicle in train 6N01 was number DC
967588, TOPS code YLA, a type known as "Mullet". This
wagon was rebuilt by BR at Shildon in 1981 or 1982 as part of lot number
4012.
EWS locomotive 66089 brought up the rear of
the train. After reversal at Waterloo this became the train
locomotive for the remainder of the journey to Eastleigh.
