  The inscription on the side reads:

The water trough is dedicated to the memory of Margaret Trevor-Battye, who is seen in this image. She was born in 1869 and married the explorer Aubyn Trevor-Battye, with whom she had these two daughters. Tragically she passed away at the early age of 36.
