General scene of the engineering work  Photograph taken from the Addlestone Moor footbridge looking towards the Chertsey station footbridge.  The Down line had been lifted for a distance of 90 chains. The train in this view is 6N05 which had brought fresh ballast to site from Eastleigh.
 
 

66126 hauled train 6N06 which brought new concrete sleepers to site from Eastleigh.  This had run as a normal train under the control of the signalmen until it reached Byfleet Junction, from where it was controlled by the engineers. 
 
 

EWS locomotive 66126 has passed under the Addlestone Moor footbridge, the reflection of which can be seen in the locomotive's rear window, and is about to come to a halt behind the previous train.

The second wagon in train 6N06 was this old wooden sided TOPS code OBA wagon, running number 110453.
  

 

Train 6N06 has come to a halt behind train 6N05 and the engineers begin preparing to unload the new sleepers.
