Railway  Engineering  Train

  Addlestone Junction 24th January  2009

GBRf class 66 locomotive number 66705 pulled train 6G14 through Addlestone Junction on this bitterly cold January day.  The junction itself is out of sight in the distance, around the curve. The train was carrying engineering materials from Eastleigh to Barnes.

A closer view of 66705 as it crossed the canal bridge at Coxes Mill, just north of Addlestone Junction.  The Union Flag is clearly visible on the side of the loco.

66705 approaches repeater signal WK 906 BR.  The green aspect of the signal itself is visible in the distance from this vantage point, but was not visible to the driver until a few moments later when he had rounded more of the curve.

The first two wagons in the train were type YCA "Parr" carrying new concrete sleepers.  This is DC 967533, rebuilt by BR Shildon in the early 1980s as part of lot number 4012.

The is type OCA wagon number 112153, built at BR Shildon in 1981 or 1982 as part of lot number 4014.  The bags in the wagon are thought to have contained Pandrol rail clips.
